1st Annual Bowl-a-Thon
This January the Greater San Diego Reading Association held their first Bowl-A-Thon to raise funds for our organization. Twenty-five bowlers took over six lanes at the ARC bowling center at San Diego State University. Teams of five competed to raise money through pledges and to win prizes for the Highest and Lowest Scoring Team and Individual bowler along with the Most Spirited Team.
Books for Babies
The Bonita Sunrise Rotary Club and GSDRA are partners in getting out the word to new parents about reading to their children. Together we buy books and a backpack and take them to newborn babies and their parents while in the hospital. The program, called Books for Babies, is an ongoing project that brings lots of smiles from everyone involved
